James Warren & The Korgis
- The Sonet Years: 1985-1988 -
|
late 1983 | James Warren performance in Bath |
Info from Tim Hawkins: "The Korgis appeared live at the Theatre Royal in Bath in late November or very early December 1983.
The live musicians comprised James on guitar and occasional keyboards
(and incidentally a yodel solo spot in authentic alpine costume) plus his then girl-friend (I believe), Maggie Stewart, on keyboards
and, er, dancing. There were backing tapes. It was a free entry with voluntary contributions in buckets on the way out.
James sang a large number of songs which have never seen the light of day:
'Friends' was in the vein of 'Living on the Rocks' [my comments: "Friends" is actually a Stackridge song].
Some of the songs might have appeared on an album on London Records if 'Don't Look Back' had been successful."

Recorded Jan-Oct 1985 at Sonet Studio, London. James Warren: lead and backing vocals, electric and accoustic guitar, bass guitar.
Nick magnus: keyboards, real and synthesized percussion, synthesizer programming.
Produced by James Warren (except Burning Questions, True Life Confessions & It Won't Be the Same Old Place produced by Andy davis and James Warren).
In the liner notes in the CD it says:
"Glenn Tommey, James Warren - overdubbed extra percussion and guitars, September 2006."
I do not know how many tracks they overdubbed, but this means that some or all tracks have been more or less changed
compared to the originals. This does not mean, however, that they are worse!
