1975 | LP | EINZELGÄNGER: EINZELGÄNGER |
- Einzelgänger 4.37
- Aus (The End) 6.52
- Warum (Why) 3.08
- Percussiv 3.58
- Good Old Germany 5.08
- Basslich 2.50
- Untergang (Ruin) 5.10
- Liebes-Arie (Love Song) 4.48
- Einzelgänger 1.54 (German LP: 89 597 OT; US LP: Oasis/Casablanca, OCLP-5001)
All songs written, played, and produced by Giorgio Moroder. It sounds quite a lot like Kraftwerk at the time,
but for the most part there are no strong rhythms. The corny vocoder sounds more outdated today than the actual music does.

Amazing, futuristic, rhytmical! Way ahead of its time and a must for Moroder fans.
The whimsical and corny last track sabotages the wholeness though.

Sep 1977 | 7" | Giorgio: From Here To Eternity |
From Here To Eternity (single remix) 3.30/Too Hot To Handle 4.51 (UK 7": OASIS 1)
From Here To Eternity (single remix) 3.30/Utopia 4.14 (German 7": Oasis 11 538 AT)
Clive Hocker: "The 7" version starts with the the vocoder-style voice
from the album version without any additional instrumentation.
Then the music starts (suddenly - almost in the same way as the Donna Summer
recording 'I Feel Love) and Moroder's singing begins after eight bars of this
introduction. After one verse (as on the album) the chorus repeats four times.
The mix during the chorus is substantially different with more emphasis on the
'hook' melody. Instead of proceeding onto the second verse (as on the album)
the beat continues but the music fades into the percussive start of 'Utopia -
Me Giorgio' and then that track continues until the single fades. It is almost
a medley of the two tracks - perhaps Moroder couldn't decide which was the better
song! A video (rather basic by today's standards) was released to accompany
the song and featured a close up of Moroder standing in front of a bright light.
During the chorus he moved in time to the music so that the light flared into
the camera!". Included on a various artist disco CD called 'Thump's Flashback Disco' (Thump/PolyGram 1999).

Søren Jensen told me about the German LP: "It has a great fold-out cover with quite extensive biographies
(= not just two lines) in German of Moroder, Donna, Trax, Roberta Kelly, Dino Solera, Speed Limit and Munich Machine.
The albums that were issued on the Oasis label via Ariola (Germany) are pictured - meaning Donna's & Roberta Kelly's
albums are missing since they were issued on Atlantic there - those pictured are: Giorgio's "Knights" + "Eternity",
Trax' "Watch Out", the first Munich Machine LP, and an entire Dino Solera LP (look here:
http://www.discomusic.com/records-more/2242_0_2_0_M46/ ) - in the German biography, it reads that
'Giorgio produced Dino's first album, a second one will follow soon' … but this apparently didn't happen.
One to me previously unknown album by the group Speed Limit: "Cruisin'" (Oasis 25 218 OT) is also pictured
+ Trax' "Dancing In The Street" and Munich Machine's "Whiter Shade Of Pale" are announced as forthcoming albums."
Søren also told me about Speed Limit: " 'Love Fever' does not have anything in common with the title on 2nd Munich Machine album.
Speed Limit (apparently) did two singles on the Oasis label - Love Fever / Do It Now
(both written by Charly Kressmann & Pete Bellotte), produced by Pete Bellotte 1977, and Bump The Twist".
