- Gimme Gimme Good Lovin' (Levine/Cordell) (German LP: Hansa 80 052)
Thanks to Christopher Robin Zimmerman for info on this LP. He told me:
"My guess is this came out in late 1969 or early 1970. "Yummy Yummy
Yummy/Make Me Your Baby" was a single in Italy, and I have a test pressing
for Germany, but don't know if it was a legitimate single release there [it was!].
I ALSO have an Italian "Luky Luky"/"Senza Te, Senza Me" which I guess is
the equivalent of the "Looky Looky"/"Happy Birthday" single. (The Italy
singles are actually credited to "George" if you try to go hunting for
them!)
Unfortunately, I only got the record so I have no cover to scan and no
liner notes to tell you about, but I have a hunch the front LP cover looks
*exactly* like the back cover of the "Moody Trudy" single (given that the
label and number are listed and the tracklist matches exactly!)
This is definitely all bubblegum as the title implies, and as you can see
these tracks are mostly all cover versions. The Credence tracks in
particular sound gloriously awful, as if Giorgio really had no idea about
what he was singing..."Proud Mary" actually approaches English, but makes
absolutely no sense. :)"
