Sensitive, intimate and (sometimes breath-takingly) beautiful cover versions. The sparse arrangement brings out Martin's delicate vocals. It's a pity that there are no more than six tracks.

A various artists tribute album to Leonard Cohen. Martin Gore contributed his own version of Cohen's 'Coming Back to You'. Sounds just like you would expect.

'Stardust' was chosen as a single, not because it is commercial, but because it represents in some way the uncommercial aspects of the full length album. The 'Stewart Walker Remix' of I Cast a Lonesome Shadow is actually not a dance mix. Track 3, on which he sings with a bit more passion than on 1 & 2, is only available on this single.

In general an enjoyable album and pretty much what we could expect of a follow-up to his first solo album, but here are also a few weaker tracks: 'I Cast a Lonesome Shadow' suffer from a more or less annoying over-production of 'punctual blips' that puts a shadow to Martin's vocals. 'Lost in the Stars' is a very strange Broadway-style song, 'Das Leid...' too where he sings in German. The strongst tracks are 2, 4-6, 8 and 10. All in all I recommend this album to fans.

The DVD concert is short but very nice and shows that Martin sings live just as good as on his records, his voice is clear and effortless and simply amazing, not many artists can sing as good live as he can (but his stage dance, well you have to see it yourself).
