"STACKRIDGE's Record Company did not like the finished result of 'Mr Mick' and ordered the removal of most of the dialogue.
As the album was based around a poem, this wholesale remodelling did not please the band much. Even so, the released result was not without it’s charm.
The original album never before released is included in it’s entirety as CD1 and the album released to the public remastered as CD2."

1976 | LP | THE SHORTWAVEBAND'S GREATEST HATS |
Phil Harrison told me 9 April 2002: "The SWBs Greatest Hats" was originally a vinyl album (produced by David Lord and us)
released 1976 featuring a particular part of SWBs repertoire (i.e. the trad. tunes rather than the original songs).
Much later (don't remember the year) it was rereleased as a cassette (Libra Realsound LRS111) by a company specialising in
'real' recordings: it fitted their bill because we recorded almost the whole thing straight to stereo - no mixing - in analog days buffs liked this kind of stuff."

12 Jan 1981 | various artists LP | THE BRISTOL RECORDER # 2 |
- The Welders: Voices 2.57 (Bristol Recorder, BR002)
Thanks to David Bateman for info. He told me that it was a magazine including a vinyl LP in each issue.
It was published from: The Recorder, 18 Ambrose Road, Cliftonwood, Bristol 8. Sleeve info:
“The studio tracks on this album were recorded and mixed from 16 to 20 October, 1980, at Crescent Studios, 144 Walcot Street, Bath.
They were engineered and produced by David Lord, assisted by the wonderful Steve Street.”
Sleeve note for THE WELDERS: "Phil Harrison: keyboards, drums. Stuart Gordon: guitars, vocals, percussion. James Warren: Tesco bass, backing vocals.
This group of talented young musicians from Bath score zero on the musical credibility stakes: no aggression; no deep and intense emotions;
no urban alienation; just this strange passion to write nice pop songs. Do they exist? Are they really Welders? Is this meaningful?
Is this the sort of thing that should appear on independent albums? Is rock music dead? How many records have this group sold in France?
Is there really a spelling mistake in ‘intence’?"
