Premiered 1984 or 1985 in UK (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087300/?ref_=ttrel_rel_tt), and 21 February 1986 (as "The French Lesson") in USA. Released on LP in 1985. All songs except 3, 4, 11, 12, and 15 are composed by Enya, but most of them are arranged and performed by others. Thus there are only two "real" Enya solo tracks on this album, The Frog Prince and Dreams, and strangely they are not in the film, only on the album. 2. Smaoitim... (d'aodh Agus Do Mháire Uí Dhúgain) 6.05
  3. Out of the Blue 3.11 (CD-maxi: YZ 312CD)
The B-side "Out of the Blue" is a longer version of the 1 min 23 sec song "Portrait" on ENYA's 1987 LP, and it also has some more piano melody. On the first pressing of all formats the single was simply titled "Orinoco Flow" but it was quickly changed to "Orinoco Flow (Sail Away)" because the record company boss noticed that buyers were confused about the title and asked for "Sail Away" which Enya keeps singing in the song) instead of its actual title Orinoco Flow (which is a bit harder to hear).

7 Oct 1991 CDM/7" Carribean Blue

  1. Carribean Blue 3.39 [Single Version]
  2. Orinoco Flow 3.44 [1988 Single Edit]
  3. Angeles 3.58 (CD-maxi: WEA YZ 604CD / 9031-75610-2)
  1. Carribean Blue 3.39 [Single Version]
  2. Orinoco Flow 3.44 [1988 Single Edit]
  3. As Baile 4.04
  4. Oriel Window 2.22 (CD-maxi: WEA YZ604CDX / 9031-75611-2)
    Carribean Blue 3.39 [edit] / Orinoco Flow 3.44 [1988 Single Edit] (7": YZ604)
As Baile is the same music as "Exile" from WATERMARK but with different vocals. Information from Louise N Fharrachair and Daniel Quinlan: "The title As Baile can be translated as "away from home". The song itself is all intonation, although you might say the intonation is "based" in Irish Gaelic. Enya sings "or, horo, mo-ray he u way, he u way" and so on. The word "or" is an interjection that could be translated as "oh!" or "oho!", but the rest of the song is intonation."

  11. After Ventus 4.04
  12. Smaointe... 6.06 [from "Orinoco Flow" single 1988] (CD: WEA 9031-75572-2)
"The original version of Book of Days was sung in Irish Gaelic. According to wikipedia "The subsequent 1992 single version was bilingual, with new English lyrics, recorded for Ron Howard's film Far and Away. This newer version (2:56) replaced the original pure Gaelic version (2:34) on subsequent pressings of Shepherd Moons from mid-1992 onwards, making the original recording relatively rare."

  14. Dan y Dwr 1.41 (words by Roma Ryan)
  15. To Go Beyond (II) 2.58 (CD: WEA 4509-91167-2)
A remastered re-release of the 1987 ENYA album. I would say that it sounds different than the 1987 album, even remixed. (I think the original has a better sound.) "Portrait (Out of the Blue)" is a longer version of the 1 min 23 sec song "Portrait" on ENYA's 1987 LP, and was first released on the single Orinoco Flow (Sail Away) in 1988.
